I'm sure that by now you have all heard about the break-in on Southwind Drive in The Woodlands. I just read on the news that this was a forced-entry attack. The victim, LaTosha Early, passed away at the hospital this morning. She was 27 years old, married and mother of 4 children.
This is very frightening and I truly believe that no matter where you live in Charlotte you have to be safe. I encourage all of you to take extra precautions around your homes. Leave lights on outside at night, keep all of your doors locked, if you have a storm door, keep it locked at all times and if you have an alarm, keep it armed. We can never be too careful and with this most recent incident, it is a little too close to home.
I believe that we need to actively and aggressively get our neighborhood watch up and running. We do have some measures in place but I believe that we should meet and discuss how we can protect ourselves while watching out for our neighbors.
